In my job as a VMware Certified Instructor I teach the VMware Horizon View courses, so I’m pleased to announce the arrival of a new VMware Horizon course.

VMware Mirage [V5.0] and Horizon View [6.0]: Fast Track

Overview:

This extended-hours, hands-on training course provides students with skills that they need to deploy a unified image management system using VMware Mirage™ as well as installing, configuring, and managing the VMware Horizon™ View™ component of VMware Horizon™. Students learn how to configure security, manage images, perform a Windows migration, set up endpoint protection, and perform various management functions with Mirage. Students will also gain practical experience with View concepts through the completion of hands-on labs that include VMware View® Manager™, VMware View® Composer™, and the View security server.

VMware Horizon View Install, Configure and Manage 6.0 Beta course May 20, 2014

One of the products that I work with and also teach courses on is VMware Horizon View, I started with version 3, then 4 and then 5 and now VMware have released Horizon View 6.

 

Thankfully they have also released a VMware Horizon View: Install, Configure, Manage [V6.0] – BETA course

If you have sat and passed your VMware Certified Professional in Desktop technologies (VCP5-DT) then you’ll be pleased to know that we now have the VMware Certified Advanced Professional – Desktop Administrator (VCAP-DTA).

The exam is a hands on configuration exam that really tests your knowledge, to pass the exam, you have to know how to configure view.

The exam demonstrates your ability to

  • Install and manage highly available and recoverable Horizon View environments.
  • Establish policies and settings for a secure virtualized infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot configuration and performance issue in complex Horizon View environments.

The exam lasts for 180 minutes and consists of 23 scenarios.
