Many of you who deal with Microsoft Server Operating systems may be aware of Group Policies.

For me Group Policies have always been extremely useful, in a previous position, I had the job of installing, configuring and securing Windows networks.

Now imagine you have 2000 desktops, the last thing you really want to have to do is to configure all of these desktops with the corporate standard.

Well Groups policies allow me to configure not only the machine regardless of who logs on, but also allows me to secure the system regardless of where the user logs on.

We now have Windows 2012 and these Group Policies have been improved.

Rather than me re-invent the wheel however, Darren Mar-Elia has wrote a fantastic blog which can be accessed at the Microsoft server and tools Blog
